Anthropic replaced git in its monorepo with an in-house system called Scion
In an Oct 13 post, Anthropic described moving its monorepo from git to Scion, a server-centred version control system, in about five months. Merged changes per day rose from about 2,500 in May to over 30,000 in September.
Why it matters
Agent-driven coding is pushing commit volume far past what typical git setups handle. Scion is not open source, but the post explains ideas such as sparse checkouts and tiered caches that teams can apply to git.
